Scholarship Scams – Beware
Thursday, December 8th, 2011There are a lot of scams that are going on now days on the internet and through other fake organisations. One has to take care and check properly for authenticity before applying to any of these universities and colleges.
There are several art scholarships that work like Bonds. To give you a better idea of a bond scholarship, after applying and being granted one, you have to work for a specific period of time with a company or in a remote area. Uniformed services of the United States such as (the Army, the Navy, etc) give the opportunity to people if they perform the assigned duty for a specific period of time.
All things said and done, the best thing to do while choosing a college and funding would be to look for local scholarships. Going to the guidance counsellor for advice would be a good way to start. There are local Trusts like Non profit and charitable trusts and several other trust foundations; Community foundations and other foundations that offer scholarships for high school seniors. Trade union and labour unions also offer scholarships and then there are Disability funds, as there are various organisations that offer scholarships to people with disabilities.
